I grew up across South Korea, New Zealand, China, Thailand, and the US, which taught me early on that "different is not wrong". That mindset shapes who I am and how I design. I make sure to listen first, then turn diverse insights into products that feel simple and intuitive for everyone.
I first stumbled into UX at a Stanford d.school workshop with Michael Barry — the moment I saw the power of human-centered design, I was hooked and never looked back.
I’ve spent the past 5+ years leading product design at the intersection of AI and consumer/B2B SaaS, shaping everything from mobile apps to web platforms.
Before that, I worked in branding and marketing and spent 8+ years teaching in different capacities — as a full-time teacher, part-time tutor, and freelance coach for students and professionals alike.
Sol Bee was absolutely critical to the early success of BuildAptive and she was a pleasure to work with. Though having never worked in the field of energy before, she became an expert quickly and independently. She basically designed our product from the ground up, single handedly. Every time I asked her to tackle something new to her, she did so with enthusiasm and determination. I enjoyed having her in team meetings where she could always be counted on to be cheerful, enthusiastic, and well prepared.
